Mia’s matching sock had vanished—again, just when she needed it most! Tick-tock—the morning was slipping away, and once again, one lonely sock had no matching partner. “Time to invent something!” Mia said, determined to stop the daily sock scramble. But could she build her way out of this mismatched mess?
Scratch-scratch went Mia’s drawing as her big idea took shape: the Sockinator 3000! She planned wheels to roll, a sniffer to find socks, and a color scanner to help match them. “No sock left behind!” she declared, giving every part an important job. The plan looked brilliant—but could Mia make it work?
Clack-clack—Mia brought together a lunch box, toy wheels, and a flashlight to build her Sockinator. Her drawing was becoming something real, but looking like an invention wasn’t the same as working like one. “Time to test!” she said, because inventors try ideas and improve what doesn’t work. Would its very first match be right?
BZZT—the Sockinator made its first match: a sock and the cat! “That’s not a sock!” Mia laughed, but this was a real snag: her invention couldn’t solve the morning scramble if it couldn’t tell socks apart from other things. She adjusted the scanner instead of giving up. Would the next try bring another mix-up?
WHIRR—on the second try, every sock had its match, with not one lonely sock left over! “Sockinator, you’re a success!” Mia cheered as the robot did a happy spin, turning its first big mistake into a wonderful victory. She had built, tested, and tried again. Now every sock belonged—and Mia had a little helper to be proud of.
